We have excellent schools in Carshalton and Wallington, but there's simply not enough of them. The Lib Dem-run Council has dragged its feet over school places, and we now face the real possibility that our children will be taught in temporary huts or old buildings because the Council hasn't built the new schools we need in time.
I was pleased to see the Conservative Party manifesto commits more funding for schools, and I will fight to ensure our schools have the resources they need. I welcomed the Education Secretary, Justine Greening, to our area to discuss these issues and more with her and the Conservative candidate for Sutton and Cheam, Paul Scully.
If you elect me on 8 June, you'll have an MP with the ear of government able to shape and change things for the better, rather than an opposition MP simply shrieking from the sidelines.
